Sound & Quality
Hand-turned shanks – the decisive professional difference
Filed and polished edges – for comfortable handling and clean response
Heat-treated steel frame – robust, durable, and powerful sound
Finely tuned – precise pitch for professional sound quality
Genuine craftsmanship – made with traditional tools and techniques
The characteristic difference in quality: At the transition from the shanks to the yoke, the frame is rotated once by hand – a step that is only possible with pliers and experience. This very technique ensures the clear, delicate, and powerful sounds that distinguish "The fine".

SPECIAL AUSTRIAN UNIQUE JAW HARP - FORGED
FIRE FORGED & FINELY TUNED
As an old handicraft business we attach great importance to looking back on one of the oldest handicraft techniques known to mankind!
100% traditionally hand-forged in the house WIMMER-BADES over the FORGE
UNIQUE & CUTSOM ORDER!
From stone to anvill
The secret of metal forming has been known for around 8,000 years.
Since about 6000 BC. Around 1000 BC, humans began cold processing naturally occurring metals such as gold, silver and copper into sheet metal.
The metals were probably forged in a hot state more than 5,000 years ago in Egypt.
First a stone was used as a hammer and since the Iron Age the anvil has also been used.
Basics:
Forging is a type of forming => precise freeforming, as the material can flow freely between the hammer and anvil.
All metals have a crystalline structure.
If a raw piece of steel is struck into shape without any loss of material, then in our part of the world it is colloquially referred to as forging.
The main advantage of forging is that it transforms what was often a coarse-grained cast structure into a fine-grained structure. This increases the strength values without reducing the toughness and ductility.
When forging, a distinction is made between warm, semi-warm and cold forging.
The distinguishing criterion is the temperature at which the workpieces are processed.
Hot forging is the traditional forging on a blacksmith's hammer at up to 1200°C. This process achieves perfect formability with high strength.
Cold forging is called a (cold) forming. With this forging form, the base material is not heated.
Increased strength is achieved through the reduction in elongation => the so-called strain hardening
